Target size

Type a size such as 1 MB. When a file cannot get that small, you see the smallest size it can reach.

Never bigger

A file that would not get smaller stays as it was.

Signed files

A digitally signed file is marked before you compress it, because a new file no longer carries a valid signature.

Frequently asked questions

Technical details

Processing

The files are compressed in a background worker in your browser. Photos are re-encoded as JPEG with mozjpeg, every stream is packed again, and unused objects are removed.

What stays
