Enable the Search shortcut

The global shortcut setting controls whether Command+K on Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux opens Search.

Open Settings and choose Shortcuts.
Enable the Search shortcut to use it, or disable it if it conflicts with another shortcut.
This is an on/off choice. It does not reassign arbitrary key combinations.

Practice on a task where you can immediately see the effect.

Close Settings and use the Search shortcut shown there.
Type a simple query and choose a result.
Close Search with Escape and return to your work.
