How to use it
Add the protected PDF. If prompted, enter its opening password.
Choose Unlock and review which protected files are ready.
Download the results and verify that they open without the former password.
Open a password-protected input
A document that requires an open password must be unlocked before processing.
Enter the password supplied by the document owner.
Choose Unlock and wait for the document to open.
If the password is rejected, check it and try again. This operation does not recover an unknown password.
Check the unlocked document
Opening an input and saving an unlocked output are separate steps.
Read the status after opening the input.
Run Unlock to create a new copy.
Download that copy and reopen it to check whether it still asks for a password. Keep the original until you have verified the result.
Download and check the result
The result view shows the created output. Downloading a file and checking its contents are separate steps.
Read the output name, count and size in the result view. If processing reported a problem, return to the settings and correct it before continuing.
Choose Download and keep the new file separate from your original. If several outputs are packaged together, open the archive to find them.
Open the downloaded result in a suitable viewer. Check the pages and content affected by this task. Keep your original until you are satisfied.
Output and limits
Unlock does not recover an unknown opening password. A still-locked file cannot be exported successfully. Files that were never protected are not unlock outputs. With several inputs, review any files left out of the result.
