How to use it

  1. Add the damaged PDF and wait for its diagnosis.

  2. Review the status for each file. Run Repair for the files that can be processed.

  3. Inspect the recovered page count and appearance before downloading.

Inspect the damaged input

Repair attempts to recover a readable document. It cannot promise to reconstruct missing content.

  1. Read the file status after opening the input.

  2. Run Repair and wait for the result or the reported error.

  3. Keep the source. A result file still needs a page-by-page check.

Check all recovered pages

A PDF that opens can still contain missing text, images or pages.

  1. Compare the repaired page count with the expected count.

  2. Inspect text, images, page order and any forms or links that matter.

  3. If repair fails or loses content, try another original copy or ask its creator to export the document again.

Download and check the result

The result view shows the created output. Downloading a file and checking its contents are separate steps.

  1. Read the output name, count and size in the result view. If processing reported a problem, return to the settings and correct it before continuing.

  2. Choose Download and keep the new file separate from your original. If several outputs are packaged together, open the archive to find them.

  3. Open the downloaded result in a suitable viewer. Check the pages and content affected by this task. Keep your original until you are satisfied.

Output and limits

Repair can rebuild some damaged PDF structures, but it cannot recreate data missing from the file. A reported failure is not a usable repaired document. Keep the original and verify the resulting content. Repair uses the current page arrangement for a readable document, including page deletions. Verify the recovered result before continuing with it.
