How to use it
Choose Text or Image. Enter the text and its size, or select a watermark image.
Set Colour and Opacity for text, or the image width and opacity. Set rotation and position using the preview.
Enable Tiled to repeat the mark. Choose its Layer above or behind page content.
Use Pages to watermark to limit the affected pages, or leave all pages targeted. Continue editing or download.
Add a text watermark
A text watermark labels the pages without changing their original wording.
Choose Text in the Watermark panel.
Enter a short label, such as DRAFT. The preview shows where it will appear.
Read the page behind the mark. You can still change the label before saving.
Set the text size
The text size is measured in points. A larger number makes the mark more prominent.
Keep Text selected and enter your watermark label.
Change Size (pt), using the number field or its plus and minus buttons.
Check a page with small text as well as a page with a large image. The label should remain readable without hiding the document.
Make the watermark lighter
Opacity controls how strongly the watermark covers the content. Lower values make it more transparent.
Find Opacity beside the colour control.
Drag the slider to lower the percentage. You can also enter an exact percentage in the adjacent field.
Read the document through the watermark. If the label is too faint, raise the percentage a little.
Rotate the watermark
Use a horizontal label for a simple stamp or an angled label across the page.
Choose 0°, 45° or 90° under Rotation.
Choose Free when you need a different angle.
Drag the angle slider and watch the preview. The numeric field lets you enter an exact angle.
Place or repeat the watermark
Position places one mark in a chosen part of the page. Tiled repeats it across the page.
Choose a point in the Position grid to move the single watermark.
Check that the label does not cover important page content.
Turn on Tiled if you want a repeated pattern. Turn it off to return to a single positioned mark.
Put the watermark over or behind content
Over draws the mark in front of existing content. Behind places it underneath.
Choose Over to keep the watermark visible on top of the page.
Choose Behind to put it underneath the existing page content.
Check the preview carefully. An opaque background or scanned page image can hide a mark placed behind it.
Choose which pages receive the mark
You can watermark every page or choose a range. The output still contains the complete document.
Under Pages to watermark, leave All pages selected to mark the whole document.
Choose Range to reveal the page field. Enter 1, 3 to mark the first and third pages, or 1-3 for all three.
Inspect the selected pages and a page outside the range. The page outside the range should remain unmarked.
Use an image or logo
An image watermark uses a PNG or JPG file. A transparent PNG is useful when the mark should have no rectangular background.
Choose Image in the Watermark panel.
Choose Import an image and select your logo or mark.
Set Width % to size the image relative to the page. Check its opacity, position and appearance over the document.
Remove or replace a pending image
Removing the selected image lets you choose a different mark before saving. It does not remove a watermark already baked into an existing PDF.
Check the imported image name.
Choose Remove image to clear the pending watermark image.
Import a replacement if needed, then check the preview again.
Download and check the result
The result view shows the created output. Downloading a file and checking its contents are separate steps.
Read the output name, count and size in the result view. If processing reported a problem, return to the settings and correct it before continuing.
Choose Download and keep the new file separate from your original. If several outputs are packaged together, open the archive to find them.
Open the downloaded result in a suitable viewer. Check the pages and content affected by this task. Keep your original until you are satisfied.
Output and limits
The download retains complete documents, including pages outside the watermark range. Behind can be obscured by an opaque page background or a scanned page image. Over places the mark in front. Opacity controls how strongly it covers the content.
You can replace or remove the pending image watermark before downloading. Check all affected pages when source dimensions differ. Watermark does not redact text or protect the file from copying.
