How to use it
Choose a Look preset and inspect the page preview.
Enable Adjust to change tilt, noise, blur, paper and colour. Use Fax header only when that extra header is wanted.
Enable Searchable if existing text should remain available for search and copy.
Convert and download the results.
Choose a scanner, copier or fax look
This effect changes the appearance of a PDF. It does not scan paper or verify a document.
Choose Scanner, Copier or Fax.
For Fax, decide whether to add the fax-style header.
Inspect the preview at a readable size before adding more effects.
Control tilt, grain and blur
Small adjustments are easier to read than strong effects.
Enable Adjust to reveal the controls.
Drag Noise and Blur to change the grain and softness. Drag Tilt to change the angle.
Check small text. Reduce the effect if letters become hard to read.
Choose paper colour and searchable text
Paper and colour choices affect the look. Searchable concerns the existing text layer.
Choose White, Gray or Warm paper.
Choose Color, Gray or B&W according to the result you want.
Enable Searchable to keep existing text available for search and copy. Test it in the downloaded PDF.
Download and check the result
The result view shows the created output. Downloading a file and checking its contents are separate steps.
Read the output name, count and size in the result view. If processing reported a problem, return to the settings and correct it before continuing.
Choose Download and keep the new file separate from your original. If several outputs are packaged together, open the archive to find them.
Open the downloaded result in a suitable viewer. Check the pages and content affected by this task. Keep your original until you are satisfied.
Output and limits
This operation gives existing pages a scanned appearance. It does not improve the quality of a real scan. Searchable preserves available text rather than recognizing new words from an image. Noise and blur deliberately change page appearance. Separate inputs remain separate PDFs.
